Head of Performance​

As Head of Performance, you’ll join the leadership team at Hydrogen. You will spearhead a newly created ‘Performance’ team and will be responsible for setting the strategy and long-term vision for our performance marketing client proposition at Hydrogen, covering social, PPC and programmatic advertising.


Our ambition is for Hydrogen Performance to become Scotland’s leading paid social agency by the end of 2022, and we need someone with the skill, leadership, and enthusiasm to help get us there.

Key responsibilities

  • Build out and lead our Performance proposition and operation (covering paid social, PPC and programmatic) at Hydrogen, creating a compelling service for clients that is dedicated to achieving solid results

  • Line manage and mentor two Paid Media Manager direct reports initially – with likelihood of further growth in the near future

  • Work with the MD to develop a go-to-market strategy for the Performance proposition

  • Oversee the development of paid media growth strategies to achieve client objectives

  • Seeking opportunities for new business with existing clients

  • Developing and presenting new business pitches and proposals to Performance clients

  • Manage key client accounts, overseeing campaigns, analysing and optimising performance

  • Work with our Insights team to develop tailored Performance reporting for clients


You should apply if:

Essential skills

  • 4+ years in a paid media or performance related role within an agency, in-house or media owner environment

  • Experience with social media ad platforms & bid management tools

  • Shaping paid media strategies and bringing them to life

  • Strong presentation skills and confidence in communicating with clients

  • Strong organisation and communication skill

The ideal candidate

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, working with multiple clients

  • Proactive in identifying issues and opportunities and acting on them

  • Has a proven track record in performance marketing at scale

  • A great mentor and team leader

  • Results-driven and numbers-oriented

  • Commercially minded

What we can offer you

  • A salary of £35k - £45k depending on experience

  • 25 days holiday a year, plus public holidays and your birthday

  • Hybrid working model between our Glasgow office and your home – you choose the mix you want; all we ask is at least a couple of days per week in the office
