THE BRIEF

Following a successful campaign of promotional social media activity in 2018, SSE wanted Hydrogen to build on this to showcase its sponsorship of the Women's FA Cup for 2019. 

THE SOLUTION

The campaign launched with a celebration of the footballers taking part in the SSE Women's FA Cup with Player of the Round showcases as well as a competition for budding young footballers to become player escorts on the day of the final.

To encourage engagement, we created a series of branded Instagram GIF stickers for fans sharing stories on Instagram and Facebook throughout the tournament. These helped broaden the awareness of SSE's brand sponsorship of the Women's FA Cup.

On the day of the Women's FA Cup Final itself, we wanted to generate excitement and social interaction for those attending the match. We developed a Snapchat filter for the stadium, with users encouraged to share their match day photos using the filter.

On Twitter and Facebook, SSE's own content as well as fan-generated content was used to showcase the atmosphere, combining the highlights of the day into a Twitter Moment and Facebook stories.
